The dream of a return to the Premier League is still going strong at Leeds United. They are second in the table and host Preston North End who are in fifth place, nine points behind them. United have started to get the kind of jitters that their fans know only too well. One point from their last two league games has seen them drop to second, three points behind West Brom who they travel to in their next fixture. That makes this home game even more important as they bid to keep the eight points lead they have over third placed Sheffield Wednesday. United had been unbeaten in 11 league games before the loss at Fulham on Saturday. Only one home league game has been lost this season and they have won six of their last seven.

Preston are in fifth but that's only six points above 14th place. They have seven points from their last three league games but the two wins were both at home. Preston have the best home league record but their away form leaves a lot to be desired. The weekend saw them draw 0-0 at Cardiff and that ended a run of three successive away losses. Preston have only won two away league games this season, the last being in the first week of November at Charlton. Leeds need a win here and should be able to get it against a Preston side that is struggling on the road.
