Leeds vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Prediction
It is back to the drawing board for Liverpool, who after two explosive seasons, now can only play for a top four place. They will be traveling to Leeds United on Monday hoping to push for a finish in the Champions League slots as they are currently sixth, and three points off the top four. Hosts Leeds United have had a good season after returning to the Premier League and will be gunning for a top half finish. They are currently 10th with 45 points and while they’ve been superb in their own right, a big highlight of their season would be their 2-1 win over Manchester City ahead of this game. Marcelo Bielsa’s side has picked up well lately and go to this game on three straight wins and unbeaten in four league matches. Stuart Dallas hit a double as Leeds beat City despite playing the entire second half at the Etihad with 10 men, and they head to this game without the suspended Liam Cooper. The hosts have won three of their last five home matches in the league, and scored twice in three of them, while keeping three clean sheets. Rodrigo and Adam Forshaw are out of this game with injury but Raphinha could be in after coming off against City last time out.
Liverpool are coming from a 0-0 draw with Real Madrid, which effectively ended their participation in the Champions League and confirmed they’ll be closing the season trophy-less. Injuries to key players have been majorly to blame for the Reds’ slump this season but a poor run of form, especially at home also hit them at a crucial stage of the campaign. In the end, the team that has won the European club championship and the Premier League title back to back has only scraps to fight for this season. They are three points off the top four and hope to secure a place there in a tight, congested race. With three straight wins in the Premier League, Jurgen Kloop’s side can be said to be getting back to their best but there’s still some fluidity missing in their game. Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are clearly not at their best while they haven’t gotten it right with the central defence pairing. However, they have five wins in six away league matches, scored in all, and indeed, scored two or more in four of the six. This will be another tough test for the Reds, having in mind Leeds United would have had eight days of rest before the game. Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson and Joe Gomez remain long term absentees for Liverpool while Curtis Jones is doubtful.

Our Leeds vs Liverpool Prediction
Liverpool are not the best to bet on when coming straight from continental games. They’ve dropped points four times in the matches coming right after Champions League games this season. The Reds are depleted by injuries, could be fatigued after their tough clash on Wednesday and will be dispirited after the elimination. Facing an in-form and well rested Leeds United at this point makes it tougher so putting money on a home win could be worth it.
