Bottom-placed Latvia will look to get their first points of the Euro 2024 qualification campaign when they host third-placed Turkey. This Group D match will be played at the Skonto Stadium in Riga. Latvia started their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Wales on matchday one. That result made it three straight losses and no win during regular time since last June. The Wolves are looking to make it to the main stage for the first time since 2004 but they will have to do without some firepower. Their second highest-scoring active scorer Artūrs Zjuzins has been left out of the squad, which was a questionable decision. That puts a question mark on their ability to turn the tables in this competition. Latvia have lost 11 of their last 12 Euro qualifying matches with only a win during this sequence halting a complete washout. Thankfully, that victory came at a home venue which halted a seven-game losing streak in home matches in the Euro qualifiers.

Turkey were beaten 2-0 by Croatia in their last match, which came on the back of a 2-1 win over Armenia on matchday one. Turkey won’t mind a repeat result as long as it's positive, considering their recent World Cup qualification failure. With 11 wins from their last 15 Euro qualifiers, Turkey do have a pedigree of impressing in this competition. Along those lines, they have won six of their last eight away Euro qualifiers which should give them confidence for this trip.
