Celtic continue their title defense when they travel to Kilmarnock in the second round of Scottish Premier League fixtures this weekend. Top of the table after recording a 5-1 opening-day victory over Hamilton Academical, Celtic are going for their tenth league title in a row, an unprecedented feat. Several clubs also picked up wins in the first round, but Kilmarnock were not among them. They lost 2-1 at Hibs, a result which leaves them eighth in the table, the position they finished the previous season in. It is worth mentioning that the previous season's positions were decided on a points-per-game average as the campaign was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. Another defeat looks likely for Kilmarnock as they have lost their last six meetings against Celtic. Four of those defeats saw Celtic score at least three goals. If one player is likely to fire past Kilmarnock's goalkeeper, it's Odsonne Edouard. The French forward followed up scoring 22 goals last season (a tally which earned him the Scottish top flight's Golden Boot) with a hat-trick in last week's league win. Edouard has scored five times in the eight games he's played against Killie, so he has pedigree in this fixture. Celtic have won on their last two visits to Rugby Park but lost the previous two encounters played there.

Dominant as ever domestically, Celtic have won 21 of their last 23 league fixtures. It is worth mentioning that Kilmarnock had the fifth-best home record in the top flight last season. However, the emphatic manner in which Celtic won last week leads us to believe that they will follow it up with another big win. Back Celtic to score at least three goals.
