Juan Manuel Cerundolo vs Jan-Lennard Struff Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Swiss Open Gstaad

We're back on clay for this week's Swiss Open in Gstaad.  Round one of this ATP 250 tournament sees Juan Manuel Cerundolo faces Jan-Lennard Struff. The winner of this match will face either Martin Landaluce or the sixth seed David Goffin. Here's our  first round prediction. 

The recent grass court season saw Cerundolo play just two matches and both ended in first qualifying round losses. He quickly returned to his beloved clay to play two Challenger Tour events with one quarter-final and then being  the runner-up in Braunschweig. 

Cerundolo is up to 108th in the live rankings, 21 places ahead of Struff.  He's won 33 matches this year, all on clay.  Most of his success has come on the Challenger Tour but he reached round three in the Madrid Masters. A side bet on him beating Struff may well win.

 Jan-Lennard Struff is 129th in the live rankings. He's played seven clay court matches this year and won just one of them. That sole victory was in Madrid when his opponent retired in the deciding set. He can play well on this surface and was a semi-finalist here in 2024.

This year is not going well for him though with a 7-18 record and 12 first round exits. We tip Cerundolo to win a set in this match.
