John Isner is seeded ninth in the Men's Singles but to justify that position he has to do better than he's ever done at Wimbledon. He's never got past the third round here despite his massive serve and his general record in Grand Slam tournaments is incredibly poor for a player ranked in the top ten in the world. He's only reached one Grand Slam quarter final and that was back at the US Open in 2011. More success has been forthcoming in the Masters 100 tournaments and he won the Miami Open earlier this year beating Cilic, del Potro and Zverev. He didn't play any grass court tournaments prior to Wimbledon but did well in the first round with a straight sets win over Yannick Maden but this is going to be a bit tougher an assignment for him.

His Belgian opponent led by two sets to love in the first round but had to go to 8-6 in the fifth set before finally beating Steve Johnson. Bemelmans is ranked 104th in the world and his highest ever ranking was 84th three years ago. His best performance at Wimbledon was when he reached the third round last year losing in straight sets to Kevin Anderson. He reached the second round of the Australian Open this year beating 18th ranked Lucas Pouile in the first round and also made it through to the second round of the French Open. Apart from that it's been a dire year for him apart from a semi-final in Gaudelope and even then he lost to a player ranked below him. Johnson is ranked 42 in the world so that was a good scalp for the Belgian but his run should end here and the tip is to go for Isner to get the victory and move into the third round.
