Jeremy Chardy vs Tomas Berdych Prediction & Betting Tips - Roland Garros

Tomas Berdych is seeded 17th for the French Open, a tournament in which he has reached two quarter finals and the semi-final eight years ago. He's currently ranked 18th in the world but goes up one in the seedings because of the absence of Roger Federer. It was the Swiss legend who beat Berdych in the last eight of the Australian Open in January but before that he had disposed of Juan Martin del Petro in the last 32 in an impressive start to the year. The following month he reached the semi-final of a hard court tournament in Marseille but form has deserted him since then. Berdych is yet to win a match on clay this season losing three first round matches but all to players ranked in the top 40, a lot higher than his opponent in this match who has lost all five of their previous meetings  with one of those  being on this surface.. Berdych struggled here last year having to go to five sets in the first round before a second round defeat by Karen Kachanov, though his opponent was in good form as he went on to beat Jon Isner before losing to Andy Murray.

Home fans will be cheering on Jeremy Chardy who is currently down at 86th in the ATP rankings. His year started with a first round loss to Sandgren Tennys in the Australian Open. After some more early exits he returns to form with a last 16 appearance at Indian Wells beating three  players 7-5 6-4 to Roger Federer. His best win of 2018 came in the Miami Open where he beat world number 4 Gregor Dmitrov Formed in the face of the world. Want to forget it? Benchetrit in straight sets and that opponent is 345th in the world. He'll have the home support here, but go for Berdych to get the win.
