We'll have an unseeded player in the last eight of the Chengdu Open. That's because round two sees Jenson Brooksby take on Lorenzo Sonego in this outdoor hard court tournament. Brooksby beat the eighth seed in round one but Sonego also had a good win and some of his recent performances lead us to make a prediction he'll win this.
The winner will face either fourth seed Botic van de Zandschulp or qualifier Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Both of these players have had a poor run of form in recent weeks, so a deep run in this ATP 250 tournament is really being appreciated.
Jenson Brooksby had been beaten in four of his last five matches before he beat Baez in straight sets in round one.The American has played more than 21.5 games in two of his last three matches played over this format - best of three sets so a side bet on that is an idea.
Lorenzo Sonego has also been struggling and he'd lost three in a row before he defeated James Duckworth in round one. That avenged a recent loss to Duckworth in Winston Salem last month. The Italian has had some difficult matches in recent weeks, but did take eventual champion Alexander Zverev to five sets in the recent US Open.
