Jakub Mensik vs Ben Shelton Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP National Bank Open

World No. 17 Jakub Mensik and 10th-ranked Ben Shelton collide in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Montreal Open on Tuesday. Mensik has lost all three of his matches against players in the top 31, while Shelton has won five of his last six matches against lower-ranked opponents, leading us to favour Shelton in our prediction.

After a 2–1 victory over 110th-ranked Jacob Fearnley in the Round of 64, Jakub Mensik secured his quarterfinal berth with back-to-back straight-set wins. That includes a 6–4, 7–5 victory over Dutchman Botic Van De Zandschulp, ranked 70th in the world, in the Round of 16. 

However, the Czech No. 2 has lost all three of his matches against opponents ranked 31st or higher. The most recent of those was a Round-of-16 defeat to World No. 31 Brandon Nakashima in the Washington tournament. 

Ben Shelton will not only be out to secure his semi-final berth on Tuesday but also exact revenge after Jakub Mensik ended his 2025 Madrid Open campaign in the Round of 32 last year. The six-time ATP champion has been on a terrific ride at the 2026 Montreal tournament, winning all six of his sets. 

He served five aces without reply to defeat Brazil's Joao Fonseca, ranked 27th in the world, 6–3, 7–6(7–3) in the Round of 16 on Sunday. That result saw him win all three of his matches in straight sets, while racking up five wins in six matches against lower-ranked players.
