Italy look to win a second home game in this season's Six Nations Championship. The Blues are fifth in the table but only behind the visitors, fourth-placed England on points difference. Can they finally beat the Red Roses? Read our match prediction below.
The Italians won their opening match of these championships but since then have lost to Ireland and France. Five points have been earned from their first three games and after this match, they host bottom-placed Wales. As you will read in the form section of this preview, Italy have shown improvement this year and they will be hopeful of again giving a major first-tier nation a strong contest.
England are not in the position that they and many others thought they'd be after three matches. Hopes were high of a strong challenge this year after a long unbeaten run. Those hopes continued after an opening win over Wales but it has all gone downhill for them since then. With a match against France (who they currently trail by ten points) being their final Six Nations fixture, England have a tough end to this Six Nations.

Italy - England: Form Analysis
It's going to be an interesting month for Italian rugby. They end this 2026 Six Nations with two home games against England and Wales. A couple of wins could see them finish as high as second in the table but a wooden spoon is still a possibility.
Italy got off to a winning start with a narrow victory over Scotland in a rain-soaked fixture. They led in Ireland before being beaten and then were comfortably defeated by top-of-the-table France in their most recent match.
Can Italy finally beat England?
They have lost all 32 of their test matches against England with 404 points scored and 1271 conceded. Their last home game against England saw them only lose by three points and this could well be another close match.
England are only above Italy on points difference after the first three games of these championships. They are ten points adrift of France at the start of the day but with a vastly inferior points difference. Their main hope now after a win and two successive defeats will be to finish at least second in the table.
That isn't going to be an easy target to achieve with Ireland nine points ahead of them after their win on Friiday. Plus this game is followed by a trip to rampant France. England need to get back on track after losing in Scotland and then being heavily beaten at home by Ireland.

Italy & England Squad Analysis
Italy may see this match as their best chance to finally beat England. A win for them would see them go into their final game against Wales in at least fourth place and possibly even with a chance of finishing second.
They will be without full back Ange Capuozzo who is out through injury. Better news is the return of after a two-game absence.
The Italians are unchanged in the scrum for this match. Several changes have been made in the backline, including Alessandro Garbisi playing at scrum half and the return of Juan Ignacio Brex after a two-match absence.
Changes galore made by England.
After two straight defeats, England have rung the changes for this trip to Italy. Among those left out of the squad are George Ford and Fraser Dingwall. Tom Roebuck is preferred to Henry Arundell with Eliot Daly in at full-back.
Fly half for this Six Nations match will be Fin Smith. There is a new number 12 too with Seb Atkinson coming in for only his third international appearance. Tommy Freeman has been a regular try scorer for England and they will hope for a return to form as he moves to outside centre for this game.

Our Italy vs England Prediction
We would not have expected England to come into this game desperate for a win to get their season back on track. That's the situation though after a long unbeaten run has ended and they've lost their last two games against Scotland and Ireland.
A loss to Italy would be a disaster for them and even put them in some danger of ending up with the wooden spoon. Italy have also lost their last two games but both and are struggling to score points. Our main Italy v England prediction is England wins on a -3.5 handicap.
