Czech Republic have chosen tough matches to help them warm up for a tough group at the 2020 European Championship. They start off with Italy away in Bologna, before facing Albania in Prague. Italy have already played their first and this will be their last before heading to the Euros. In the first, they whacked San Marino 7-0 and after that Roberto Mancini whittled down his squad, among the players dropped being Matteo Politano, who scored two in the game. Italy are returning to the big stage after missing the 2018 World Cup and they’ve done well to get here. They are unbeaten in the last 26 matches, and head to this game with seven straight wins, having kept seven clean sheets and having scored at least two goals in the seven games. In their qualification matches, Italy won 10 out of 10, scored 37 goals and only conceded four in Group J. Having rested key players against San Marino, Mancini is expected to unleash his best against the Czech.

Czech Republic do not have a very impressive run against Italy; they’ve lost twice in their last four meetings, with the other two games ending in draws. This is their first friendly match ahead of the tournament and some rustiness will be expected, having played last together in March. In their last game, they suffered a 1-0 loss to Wales, that being a World Cup qualifier and it made it two straight winless outings for the Czech, after earlier drawing with Belgium. In their last three matches, Czech have no clean sheet and their away run isn’t so encouraging too, with one clean sheet in 11. They have three losses in their last five away matches and their only win in the last four was against Estonia, who even scored twice. While they’ve struggled to keep clean sheets, Czech Republic have not been conceding heavily. In their last 13 matches, they’ve conceded two or more goals in just two.
