No shocks are expected in the Turkish Super Lig as far as the league title is concerned. Trabzonspor have already been confirmed champions ahead of their trip to Istanbul Basaksehir. They lead the standings with 81 points while the hosts are fourth on 62 points. Basaksehir have all to play for in this final game of the season; their place in the top four isn’t sealed, with Alanyaspor lurking, just a point below. Basaksehir need a win to secure that, and they can look at their recent run with hope, going into this game unbeaten in seven matches. They’ve won four of the seven but are coming here with two straight draws. In their last three matches at home, they’ve returned clean sheets, winning two. They are however without a win in the last three meetings with Trabzonspor, and this is a run they’ll be looking to end.

Trabzonspor have kept two clean sheets in their last three meetings with Basaksehir, and they’ve won two of the three games. They head into this game with nothing to lose, and having just won their first of four matches in the last outing. A 2-1 win over Altay at home eased the pain of the 4-2 cup loss to Kayserispor, and it has emerged the defence is their biggest problem at this stage. They have just one clean sheet in 10 league matches and both teams have scored in the remaining nine games. Their away run has also been shaky in the recent matches, as they head into this game with just one win in the last five on the road. With the title secured, we don’t see where the motivation for this last game will come from, especially given they are playing a side that needs a win to secure a place in Europe next season.
