Istanbul Basaksehir vs Sivasspor Prediction & Betting Tips - Super Lig

Two teams that are neck and neck in the Super Lig table face off this weekend when Istanbul Basaksehir host Sivasspor. The teams both have 22 points from 17 games with Sivasspor in 11th, ahead of Basaksehir in 12th on goal difference. The clubs are six points clear of the relegation zone and nine points away from the European places. This mediocrity is a world apart from the positions they finished in last season. Basaksehir won their first league title with Sivasspor finishing fourth after running the champions close for much of the campaign. Now the two clubs are much closer to demotion than title glory. Having said that, they enter this game in good form. Basaksehir have won their last three matches, one of which was in the cup, while Sivasspor are unbeaten in four games. This current streak is Basaksehir's best run of form since November 2020. They are unbeaten in three home games in all competitions, one of which was a cathartic 7-0 victory in the cup against lower-league opposition. Their recent 1-0 home win over BB Erzurumspor was the first time they had kept a clean sheet in a home league game in six matches. 

Sivasspor are not the easiest guests to beat. They have only lost one of their eight matches on the road in the league this season, winning three and drawing four. They failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of those matches. Sivasspor are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with Basaksehir, winning twice. The most remarkable thing about fixtures between the teams is how often they tend to be low-scoring. The previous eight featured fewer than three goals. Although they both struggle to defend, we can see goals getting compromised by the caginess two teams afraid of losing can often exhibit. Back under 2.5 goals.
