Two seasons ago, Istanbul Basaksehir wn their first Super Lig title but have dipped badly since. They barely survived relegation last season, and this season, their start hasn’t been the best. They will be going into Match Day 9, at home to Besiktas, targeting just their third win in eight. Istanbul Basaksehir have six points and are placed 15th while Besiktas are third with 17 points. In their last act before the international break, Basaksehir lost 3-1 to Fatih Karagumruk, their sixth loss of the season. They have managed just two clean sheets in the eight league games played and both have come in their only wins, at home. At home, they have two wins in five league games and failed to score in three of five home league matches. They’ve lost their last three matches against Besiktas, conceding three goals in each.

Besiktas on the other hand, managed to stop their three-game winless run before the international break. They beat Sivasspor 2-1 on that occasion and go here having lost just one of their eight league games. Their scoring run is so good, they have failed to score in just two of the last 18 league games. However, defensively, they aren’t very strong and both sides have scored in all their last four league games. Each of their last five league matches has produced over 2.5 goals and they’ve managed to score two or more in four of the five. Besiktas have managed just two clean sheets in their last 10 away matches in the league.
