Ipswich lost 3-2 at leaders Leeds United on Saturday and ended the weekend in seventh place. They are only out of the play-off places on goal difference and have lost three of their last four league games but two of those were away from home. Form at Portman Road is stronger with three wins out of four and all those wins came with clean sheets being kept. They have lost just two of their last 12 home league games and are favourites to win this game and get back on track. Sunderland slipped into the bottom three after their fifth league defeat of the season at home to Cardiff on Saturday. They have only won one league game this season and that was away at Norwich in August. Since then seven league games have produced just two points and patience is beginning to wear thin as their fans dread another relegation struggle. Away form has seen them get two points from their last three away games. Their last six league and cup games have seen them score just three times and this looks like a home win for Ipswich that could get them back in the play-off positions and worsen Sunderland's plight.
