They started off this campaign with a 4-1 win against Monza and then a 1-0 away win at Cagliari. The Nerazzurri have only suffered two defeats in that run; it is getting to 10 months since they last lost a home game in the league. However, they are winless in the last five against Napoli, four having ended in draws and a 3-1 defeat in the corresponding meeting.

Napoli started their season on a winning note, with a routine victory at Genoa. Though they laboured through it, they eventually earned a 2-0 win to kick off their campaign. A reality check was, however, awaiting in the shape of fast-rising Como on matchday two.
