After Iceland reached the quarter finals at Euro 2016 the next job was to reach their first ever World Cup finals. It wasn't the easiest of groups but they ended up winning Group I by two points. They won all five of their home games but only won two of their away fixtures. That away problem continued with a defeat by Mexico in March and the same month they also lost a home friendly to Peru as they also lost a home friendly to the Czech Republic last November. Their last six games have produced just two wins and they were both over Indonesia so they could do with a confidence boosting win here.

Norway finished fourth in their World Cup qualifying group finishing six points behind Northern Ireland. Away form cost them dearly with four defeats and their only win was an 8-0 hammering of San Marino. They have won ther last two friendlies beating Australia 4-1 at home and defeating Albania 1-0 away but have lost ten of their last 13 away matches. The win over Albania ended a run of eight away friendlies without a win. Iceland need the win and with Norway so inconsistent on the road, a home win is the suggested bet for this game.
