The race for promotion is shaping up in the Championship and Sheffield United have just taken their place in their quest for automatic promotion. A game against Hull City is on paper a winnable clash for them, but they know too well already that they can’t take in this clash a casual approach. After two straight draws, Sheffield managed a return to winning ways, beating Nottingham Forest 2 – 0 and are now on a four – match unbeaten streak. The loss to Bristol City, also a shock result was their only fall in the last 15 matches and they have gone seven straight away matches unbeaten, with three wins and four draws therein. Four of Sheffield’s last five away matches have ended in clean sheets but one of the best scoring sides in the Championship has not managed more than a goal in any of the last five matches. Hull City on the other hand have lost four of their last 10 matches and won five. They are not in so bad shape but being seven points off the promotion playoff spots, the chance to vie for a Premier League place may have already escaped them. Hull will however bank on a good home run that has seen them go unbeaten in the last 12 matches, with just three draws therein. They have also scored two or more goals in each of their last 11 home matches and they have lost only two of the last 18 home matches. Sheffield have beaten Hull City in two of the last four meetings and Hull have one win, with the other game having ended in a draw, occasioning post match penalties, which Hull prevailed. In 14 meetings, Hull have five wins and Sheffield 16.
