Eighth seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime bids to reach his fourth successive final. He takes on the unseeded Holger Rune in a repeat of the recent Swiss Indoors Championships final. Auger-Aliassime won that final in straight sets to add to his title wins in Florence and Antwerp. The Canadian began this week at a career high eighth place. He's up to sixth in the live rankings and a win over Rune will take him above Daniil Mededev into fifth place. He's already confirmed his participation in the Tour Finals. This week has seen him come from behind to beat Mikael Ymer, Gilles Simon and in the last eight, Frances Tiafoe for the loss of only five games.

Holger Rune was ranked 18th at the start of this tournament but is up to a career high 16th in the live rankings. A win over Auger-Aliassime would see him climb to 12th place. He's won two titles this year, the most recent one being in Stockholm. Like his opponent he's having a strong final quarter of the year and a win here would take him into his fourth successive final. He's already beaten three seeds in this tournament with victories over Hubert Hurkacz, Andrey Rublev and in his quarter final, top seeded Carlos Alcaraz. He won the first set in that match and was in a second-set tie-break when the world number one retired hurt. Rune has only dropped one set all week, that was in his first round match against Stan Wawrinka where he had to come from behind to avoid an early exit.
