Bundesliga action on Wednesday night pits Hoffenheim against FC Koln. The two teams are side-by-side in the table, Koln, in tenth, able to overtake their hosts with a win in Hoffenheim, Die Kraichgauer two points ahead in ninth. Hoffenheim had European aims midway through the first half of the season but a woeful run of form has curbed those ambitions. Their 1-1 draw away to Paderborn at the weekend was their seventh successive Bundesliga fixture without a victory. While it was a much better showing than their previous outing - a 3-0 loss at home to Hertha Berlin - silly mistakes continue to derail efforts to find form. Hoffenheim's Danish attacker Robert Skov opened the scoring early on, finishing a Pavel Kaderábek cross after less than four minutes. However, this commanding position was thrown away when Ermin Bicakcic presented Paderborn's Dennis Srbeny with a chance to equalise five minutes later. Although Srbeny's curled finish was extremely clinical, Hoffenheim must cut these mistakes out.

Two goals down after 87 minutes is usually a situation that teams struggle to recover from. FC Koln are an unusual team though. Anthony Modeste pulled a goal back in the 88th minute against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Sunday before Jhon Cordoba made it 2-2 three minutes later. It was the seventh goal that Koln have scored after the 90th-minute mark. It was a good result in the end but Koln need to get the adrenaline pumping earlier in matches. That's now three games without a win. Their fight away from the relegation zone was very impressive but a loss of confidence could see them fall back down the table. Back a draw.
