Bayern Munich made a slow start to the season but menacingly their form had picked up in the weeks leading up to the winter break. They have moved up to second in the Bundesliga six points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund. Bayern have had two poor runs of form this season but it all changed in December with five straight league wins scoring 13 goals and conceding just one. They have the best away record in the league with seven wins and two defeats winning their last three since a costly loss at Borussia Dortmund.

Hoffenheim are seventh in the table and a run of six draws in a row have seen them slip down the table. They are two points off the Europa League places but six adrift of qualifying for the Champions League they competed in this season. Home form has seen them win three, draw four and lose twice. Those three wins have come against sides who are currently in the bottom eight. Only two of their last eight home games have ended in victory and the tip here is for a Bayern Munich victory,
