The DFB Pokal campaign starts for Borussia Dortmund away at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg when they play fifth-tier side HEBC Hamburg. This first-round match between HEBC and the ‘Prussians’ is likely to be a high-scoring one with our prediction backing over 4.5 goals.
HEBC are in only their second appearance in this competition after winning the Hamburg Cup in May. They have been granted permission to use Hamburg SV’s venue as their home stadium for this fixture. Dortmund’s involvement has been postponed after their Super Cup final.
A 1-0 defeat at home in the fifth-tier league on Friday made it three defeats for HEBC in their competitive season this year. Going back to May, they have now lost eight of their last ten games, winning just two.
