Gameweek eight in the UEFA European Championship Qualifiers will see Greece take on Netherlands on Monday evening. The hosts are currently in second place in Group B with 12 points, while the visitors are in third with nine points. Both these sides are assured of a playoff spot, having topped their groups at the Nations League. Greece come into this match off the back of a 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland on Friday night. They have now won four and lost two of their six matches in this competition. Notably, those losses came against France and their opponents in this match. The hosts have won their two home games at these qualifiers and are unbeaten on home soil in their last seven matches in all competitions. Greece will play France in their final group-stage match, therefore, they will know winning this match will be vital to their chances of progressing. 

Meanwhile, the Netherlands not only topped their group at the Nations League but went on to finish fourth in that competition. They were beaten 3-2 by Italy in the match for third place back in June. Despite securing a playoff spot, they will still want a top-two finish here. The visitors have won three and lost two of their matches so far. However, they do have a game in hand on the rest of the teams in this group, and a win here will take them above Greece on goal difference. The Netherlands have an easier fixture run, with the Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar to play in their final two group stage games. Oranje beat this opponent 3-0 last month and are the clear favourites in this match.
