There’s turmoil at Dinamo Zagreb ahead of their home game against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League round of 16 return leg. The team, trails Spurs 2-0 from the first leg but ahead of the return clash, head coach Zoran Mamic has resigned after being sentenced to four years in jail over a corruption case. Now the team has all to do, with Damir Krznar appointed new manager and with a first task to overturn the deficit. Dinamo recovered from their loss in London to beat Varazdin 5-0 in the Croatian league, and in the process registered a fourth clean sheet in five matches. They now have nine wins in 10 matches and they’ve proven to be the best in Croatia but all that will count for little if they can’t beat Spurs in this game. The hosts need at least a 2-0 win, and going by their recent goal scoring form, it shouldn’t be a hard task; they’ve scored two or more in six of their last 10 matches. They also have six straight home wins and all have come with clean sheets. The loss to Spurs was their first defeat in 10 Europa League matches, and it was also the first time they failed to score in seven Europa League matches. Dinamo Zagreb are undefeated in 13 straight Europa League matches at home.

Tottenham, in the meantime, are still smarting from their loss in the North London derby. They have blamed their loss on a controversial penalty award to Arsenal but to be fair, they were poor in the game. A clinical side would have buried Spurs by the time Arsenal got the penalty.
