Primeira League side Gil Vicente are currently 12th and bid here to make it into the last eight of the Portuguese Cup. They host Academico Viseu who are in the bottom half of the Portuguese Second Division. Gil Vicente aren't in the best of form going into this game with only one win in the last five played and only two points above the relegation zone. That win was on their travels where they usually struggle with just one win in seven league games this season, They have had better results in this competition though with two wins so far. The first of those came via a penalties win at Oleiros who play in the third tier of Portugues e football. They followed that up with a comfortable 3-0 win at another third-tier side Uniao de Leria. Only two of their last 11 home cup games have been lost, one of those to Porto.

Academico Viseu are struggling in the Second Division and only four points above the relegation zone. Both of their last two games have ended in a 1-1 draw. The most recent would have been a win but for one of their players scoring an 88th minute own goal. They are unbeaten in their last five league and cup games though, so this won't be a walkover for Gil Vicente. Academico Viseu have already caused one cup upset this season, winning 1-0 at Vitoria Setubal. The last two rounds have seen them win at third-tier Montalegre and get a home win over Academicia who are second in their league. They will look to cause more problems for a Primeira League side but Gil Vicente can be backed to get the win with home advantage.
