Atletico Madrid had to grind out a 2-1 win over Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday and will be hoping they can bank three more points when they travel to Getafe on Match Day 27. Hosts Getafe are placed 15th on 27 points while Atletico have 62 points at the top of the La Liga standings. Getafe are coming from a 2-1 loss to Real Valladolid, their ninth loss in the last 15 matches. They’ve managed just four wins in the last 15 matches and failed to score in five of the last seven. Getafe have three clean sheets only in the last 10 matches, having conceded two goals or more in four of the 10. In the last 15 league matches, they’ve managed to score two or more in just three. In the loss to Valladolid, Getafe’s goal scorer Jaime Mata was sent off and the forward, who has five goals, will be out of this game. Getafe have managed five wins in their 13 league matches at home, and won just 18 of the possible 39 points in matches played at home.

Atletico Madrid remains six points clear at the top of La Liga despite having a shaky run lately. In their last match, they had to come from down to beat Athletic Bilbao, once again failing to keep a clean sheet. The league leaders have just one clean sheet in their last 10 La Liga matches. Diego Simeone’s side has for the better part of the season been on lesser games but still top of the standings. After the Athletic Bilbao win, they have now played same number of matches as most other sides, though their lead has been slashed significantly. They have 11 wins and one loss in their last 15 La Liga matches. Away from home, Atletico have nine wins in the 12 league matches they’ve played so far. The only away loss they’ve suffered was against Real Madrid. In six of their last seven away league matches, Atleti have scored two goals or more and will be glad to see Luis Suarez back on the score sheet. The Uruguayan won a penalty and scored from it in the Wednesday win, his second goal in two matches after going without a goal in five earlier matches.
