Life for Germany after that World Cup disaster in Russia began with a 0-0 home draw against their replacement as world champions France in the European Nations League. That draw puts the pressure on them a little bit before their next group game against the Netherlands especially if the Dutch avoid defeat against France in their opening fixture. Germany have now only won two of their last ten internationals and will be hoping to get a confidence booster in this home friendly against Peru. Germany have one win from their last five home games but have only lost one of their last seven home friendlies.

Peru also had a disappointing World Cup being eliminated in the group stages. They lost both their opening games to Denmark and France by a 1-0 scoreline but ended their campaign with a 2-0 win over Australia to finish third in the group. Thursday saw them play The Netherlands away in a friendly and they took an early lead only to concede two goals in the second-half to lose 2-1. Just the one win in the last five for Peru who had arrived in Russia on a 15-game unbeaten run. Only two of their last eight away friendlies have ended in a win for Peru and this looks a tough game for them, go for Germany to get a welcome win.
