Fulham are struggling to cope with the pace on their Premier League return and rightly find themselves bottom of the log. They were blanked 4 – 1 by Manchester United in their last match and go into this London derby hoping to inflict an eighth loss of the season on West Ham United who have really picked up pace after a poor start to the season. Fulham hold the worst defensive record in the Premier League, having conceded 40 goals in the 16 matches played so far. They also have no clean sheet in their last 15 matches across all competitions. Their only clean sheet in the 17 competitive matches they have played this season, came against a lowly Exeter City in the League Cup so basically they have not managed to match their top flight mates. The caliber of teams Fulham have beaten this season says all about their quality – the Londoners have beaten lower tier sides Millwall and Exeter City in the League Cup and struggling Southampton and Burnley in the Premier League. Each of West Ham’s last four matches have ended in over 2.5 goals and they have scored in four of the five. In the last three matches, West Ham have scored three goals in each. Their lead scorer Felipe Anderson has been key to the rise and so have Lucas Perez and Javier Hernandez been. They have picked eight points from a possible 15 in their last five away matches and have only lost to one side below them (Brighton) in their seven away games this season. West Ham have failed to score in just two of their seven away matches this season. Each of the teams’ last five meetings in the Premier League have ended in over 2.5 goals while only one of the last 10 has produced under 2.5 goals – the 1 – 1 draw at Upton Park in 2010.
