Claudio Ranieri was sacked as manager of Fulham on Thursday less than 24 hours after their latest defeat. The Londoners lost their fourth straight league game at Southampton and look doomed to relegation. They are ten poiints from safety, but that's virtually 11 because of their appalling goal difference. Fulham just can't stop conceding goals and have let in at least two in each of their last eight league games and in nine home league matches. With defending like that and a less than potent strike force, they face an immediate return back to the Championship.

Chelsea are sixth in the Premier League and three points behind Arsenal in the final Champions League qualification position but with a vital game in hand. Wedmesday was a bad night for Fulham but a good one for Chelsea as they beat Tottenham 2-0 at home. That was a vital win as they bounced back from the Carabao Cup final and the Kepa controversy. Their away form in the Premier League has been poor of late with heavy defeats at Bournemouth and Manchester City. They beat Fulham 2-0 at home earlier in the season and their midfield/attack should again prove too much for the home side.
