France lost to the Netherlands on Friday evening and could be out of the UEFA Nations League by the time this match begins. Their fate will be known the night before this home friendly against Uruguay with only a German win in the Netherlands allowing France to win their group but at least the world champions can't be relegated. France had gone 15 games unbeaten before that UEFA Nations League defeat but haven't lost at home since a friendly loss to Colombia in March of this year. They last played Uruguay during the World Cup beating the South Americans in the quarter finals with a 2-0 win.

Uruguay come into this game on the back of three successive defeats. Friday saw them lose 1-0 to Brazil and that had been preceded by a 2-1 loss in South Korea and a 4-3 loss away to Japan. They have beaten Mexico since that World Cup loss to France but only have one win in five games. Their last nine away friendlies have produced that win against Mexico, a draw with Poland and seven defeats. Another loss looks on the cards here, go for a France win.
