With a talented group of players, many are tipping France to do well in the World Cup that is being held this summer. There may be a few problems for Paul Pogba at Manchester United but he's having a much happier time with his national side and will be a major player for them in Russia. The French side won their qualifying group finishing ahead of Sweden and the Netherlands. They come into this game on an unbeaten run of seven games since losing an away qualiier to Sweden last year. Home form is strong with a six game unbeaten run with the last team to beat them being Spain in March 2017. Since that loss they have recorded wins over Paraguay, England, the Netherlands, Belarus and Wales but were surprisingly held to a goalless draw by Luxembourg. In terms of home friendlies that loss to Spain is the only one they have suffered in their last 11 home matches.
Colombia finished fourth in the South American qualifying table to earn an automatic place at the World Cup finals. It was a close battle though and they needed a draw in Peru in their final game to secure qualification. Their last game was a 4-0 win in China and that ended a run of five games without a win. Away form for the Colombians is a bit of a worry with just one win in the last four including a 2-1 loss away to the Republc of Korea They only won three away games in their World Cup qualifying group all against the weaker sides in the group. They will need to improve that form if wishing to make an impact in the summer and the suggestion here is to go for a French home victory.
