Sao Paulo had a convincing 4-0 home win over Chapecoence last week and now play another of the sides in the relegation zone. Those four goals were a big improvement for Sao Paulo as they had only scored nine goals in their first ten league games. They are fifth in Serie A and two points behind the final automatic qualifying position for the Copa Libertadores. Away from home, they have won two, drawn two and lost one but those five games have only seen seven goals scored in them, four being scored by Sao Paulo. 15 of their last 17 away games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them.

The prospect of a high scoring game looks even less likely when looking at the form of their opponents. Fluminense are 17th in the table and one point from safety. They have only won two of their 11 league games and have no victories in their last six. Their last home win was a 4-1 victory over Cruzeiro who have the second worst away defensive record in the league (only Fluminense themselves have conceded more). They have only scored in two of their five home league games this season. Nine of their last ten home league games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them and eight had under 1.5 goals.
