Finland (7th seed) and Great Britain (19th seed) will face off in the IIHF World Championship on Thursday evening. The Lions have won all four of their matches in this competition, and our prediction is that they will be too good for Team GB in this match.
Finland have enjoyed an excellent start to their World Championships, winning all four of their games against Germany (3-1), Hungary (4-1), the USA (6-2) and Latvia (7-1).
Jesse Puljujarvi has looked very impressive for the Lions, scoring three goals and two assists so far, while seven different players got on the scoresheet for the team against Latvia last night.
Finland have now on a six-match win streak in all competitions and have never lost to their upcoming opponents in a World Championship matchup.
Meanwhile, Great Britain are in serious danger of returning to Division 1A, as they have lost all four of their matches in this competition against Austria, the USA, Hungary and Switzerland.
Team GB have only scored four goals to date but have already conceded 19. Nathanael Halbert, David Clemens and Liam Kirk have scored for the team in this competition.
The Brits have lost six of their last 10 games in all competitions. They have never scored against Finland in their three previous matches in the World Championships.

Our Finland vs Great Britain Prediction
Finland entered the 2026 IIHF World Championship as one of the dark horses, but they have exceeded expectations, and after beating defending champions, the USA, they’ve shortened considerably in the market.
Great Britain are looking increasingly likely to return to Division 1A with each match. They have struggled to keep up with the higher seeds in this competition, and we feel that will be the case in this match as well. Our Finland vs Great Britain prediction is Finland -4.5.
