A number of top teams are still in contention for the UEFA Europa Conference League title, and among them is French giants Olympique Marseille. The French giants, the most decorated of the remaining four sides, will travel to the Netherlands for their first leg semi-final duel against Feyenoord. The Dutch side eliminated Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague 6-4 on aggregate and will be looking to take a first leg advantage from this game. Theirs have been high scoring matches, each of the last four ending in over 2.5 goals and Feyenoord scoring two or more in each of the last five games. However, they need to improve defensively as they have just one clean sheet in those five matches; in the last four, both teams have scored. At home in the Conference League, Feyenoord are unbeaten in their eight matches this season. They have seven wins and a draw and each of them has produced over 2.5 goals, though they have managed just two clean sheets in the eight matches.

Marseille are also coming into this game on a good run. They beat Reims 1-0 in their last game, for their 10th win in 11 matches. Their Ligue 1 title chances were extinguished earlier, in a loss to PSG and as they chase a second placed finish domestically, they are targeting the Conference League title in Europe. Four clean sheets in their last 15 matches show some frailty in defence but they’ve really improved on that front lately, coming into this game with three clean sheets in five. They will need that quality so much, as they face a lethal attacking side. Marseille have scored in each of their last 11 matches, so they also come loaded with their own threat, and six straight wins in the Conference League means they will be serious contenders for a win here.
