Ferencvaros are bidding to reach the Champions League group stages for the second year in a row. They host Zalgiris Vilnius from Lithuania in the second qualifying round with the winners taking on Slavia Prague in the penultimate qualifying round. Ferencvaros had few problems getting to this stage with a 6-1 aggregate win over Prishtina. The home leg was won 3-0, though it did take them until the 71st minute to break the deadlock before the floodgates opened with three wins in seven minutes. Myrto Uzuni scored all the goals in the 3-1 away win. Last season saw them finish bottom of their Champions League group. Juventus and Barcelona wasn't the best of draws they could have and they only managed one point in the group at home to Dynamo Kiev. Ferencvaros ended last season strongly and pre-season friendlies have gone well too. They come into this match unbeaten in 16 games in all competitions and friendlies. Only one of their last ten home competitive games have been lost.

Zalgiris are in the Champions League for the first time since the 2017/18 season. They have never made it past this stage of the competition but did make the play-off round of the Europa League in 2013. The Lithuanian team beat Linfield 5-2 on aggregate to get to this second qualifying round and won both legs. The win in Northern Ireland was their first away Champions League win at the seventh time of asking. They top their domestic league by two points after 19 games and are unbeaten in their last  12  league and cup matches, winning seven of their last eight. This is a tougher level of opposition for them though and three of their last four away European competition fixtures have been lost. Back Ferencvaros to win this game.
