The Swiss top flight is heading into matchday five, and Basel are still seeking stability while Sion are unbeaten. The two sides clash this Saturday, hosted by Sion, and below we have a prediction.
There remain two sides yet to taste defeat in the league, Sion and Thun. Sion have, however, played one game less, and here they have a stern test. The hosts have the best defence so far, having conceded just twice.
With only three games, though, it may be hard to clearly pick out their defensive performance. Nonetheless, Sion will be keen on a fourth straight clean sheet. They are coming from a 2-0 win against Ajoie-Monterri in a cup game.
Basel have had a tough start to the campaign, balancing between domestic and European activities. They will arrive for this match straight off a disappointing outing in Europe, having suffered elimination from the Champions League.
The Swiss giants were easy to manage for the Danish side FC Copenhagen, who won 3-1 on aggregate. Now they return to familiar grounds and should be able to bounce back.
In the last two matches between these teams, Basel emerged winners, and are unbeaten in the last seven meetings, winning four. Basel have had a tough run away from home, though, as they lost three straight league games on the road.
