Celtic had a dominant display at home to Midtyjlland in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, but they couldn’t kill off the tie. They are headed to Denmark hoping to do the job but then it won’t be easy with the tie balanced at 1-1. Both sides had a player sent off. The hosts will be without Anders Dreyer, who was sent off in the 56th minute of the first leg clash. Midtyjlland warmed up for this game with a 1-0 away win over AaB in the Danish league, claiming their first clean sheet in five matches. The fact that they’ve scored in each of the five matches should give them the momentum. They have seven wins in 10 home matches and in these, they have failed to score in just one, while in five, they’ve scored two or more goals.

Celtic’s new manager Ange Postecoglou hasn’t had the best of starts to his tenure at Celtic Park. It could get worse here as he carries to the game a depleted squad, with a makeshift defence and concerns over the goalkeeping department. Vasileios Barkas wasn’t entirely convincing in the first leg and also had a poor game as Celtic lost 6-2 to West Ham United in a friendly right before this match.
