CFR Cluj hosts none of the most successful sides in Europa League in recent times, Sevilla, in the second round of the competition, with both teams having had good runs in the group stages. To get to this point, is already an achievement for Cluj, having come from a group with Lazio, Rennes and Celtic. They actually registered wins over Celtic and Lazio, then beat Rennes home and away. Sevilla, on the other hand, were the best performers in the group stages, amassing 15 points. They only lost in their final group game, away to APOEL Nicosia and they will be hoping to have a great start to the knockouts. Cluj head here on two straight draws, and a win in their last three matches. They just resumed competitive action in February and one aspect that has come out clearly is that they don’t score a lot. They have not scored in their last two matches and in the third, they scored once as they beat FCSB in the Romanian league. Sevilla on the other hand, head to this game with a bit of a struggle; they have no win and no clean sheets in their last four matches. They have conceded at least two goals in three of the four matches, but they have scored in each of their last 12. They have three straight losses away from home too, having conceded two or more in each one of these. Their defence will come to sharp focus here. It is not the same story in the Europa League though; they have five wins and four clean sheets in their last six matches in the competition. In eight of their last nine Europa League matches, they have scored two or more goals, while they have failed to score completely in just one of 11. Sevilla scored eight goals and conceded three in three away matches at the group stage as they won two of the three matches.
