There will be lots of tension in this FA Cup round one replay between Exeter City and Bradford City as this is technically the third replay. After the first match ended 1-1 the replay at St James Park was won 3-0 by Exeter but they used more than the allowed number of five substitutes and the FA has now ordered that the match be replayed. Both these team are in League Two with Exeter in third spot on the table and Bradford in 16th position. The beauty of the FA Cup is that league positions don’t matter in a Cup renowned for upsets. Exeter have a great home record and are unbeaten in their last eight home matches across all competitions. Their last home defeat was in the EFL Trophy Cup against Chelsea U21.

Bradford City can count themselves lucky as they were comprehensively beaten in extra time of the replayed match that has now been deemed void. They lost that match 3-0 in extra time but were given a lifeline after Exeter fielded six substitutes. Bradford has a poor away record having once just twice in their last nine away matches. They will take heart from the fact that they took Exeter to two draws, showing that they are capable of upsetting their League Two rivals. Bradford have just one win in their last seven matches with five of these matches ending in draws.
