Everton have a tendency to make a slow start to their Premier League season. However, a home win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday will take them three points clear at the top of the table. They began the 2020/21 season with a 1-0 away win at Tottenham. That was a great result for them as it's their away form that often leaves a lot to be desired. Last season, the Toffees only won five away league fixtures and lost 11 matches. Carlo Ancelotti will need to improve that area of Everton's game if they are to get back into the Europa League or even the Champions League. They followed up that 1-0 win at Tottenham with a 3-0 home victory over Salford City in the EFL Cup. Now they bid to make it three wins out of three as they host West Brom. Everton won eight home league fixtures last season, though only one of the last six were won. They did in that period though draw with Manchester United and Liverpool, Goodison Park remains a hard place to go and get a win.

West Brom had a disappointing time last weekend on their return to the Premier League. The Baggies took two seasons to win promotion back to the top flight but face a hard battle to avoid an immediate return. They started the season with a 3-0 home loss to Leicester City and that doesn't bode well for the future. They beat League Two Harrogate Town in their midweek EFL Cup tie but West Brom have a tough set of league games. This match is followed by a home game against Chelsea and a trip to Southampton. Albion may have won promotion last season but they ended their campaign in poor form. Brentord and Fulham should have denied them automatic promotion. With a lack of investment so far in the transfer market, an uphill battle to survive looks the order of the day. A home win for Everton is the pick for this game.
