Everton made a good recovery from their appalling start to the season but have been slipping again in recent weeks. They start the weekend in ninth place and are only seven points above the bottom three. West Brom are in the relegation zone but a win at Goodison Park would take them to within five points of their opponents. Everton have lost their last four league and cup games but only one of those have been at home.  Altogether it's six matches without a win but the recent loss at home to Manchester United ended a run of five league games without defeat at Goodison Park. They have won six home league games this season and this home game against West Brom presents them with a good chance of making it seven. West Brom finally won a league game last weekend for the first time since August 19. However, it was at home to Brighton and Hove Albion who have lost five of their last six away games. West Brom have lost three of their last four away league games and all against sides in the bottom half of the table. They have only won one of their last 20 away league games but are only two points from safety. Goals continue to be a problem and they have only scored three goals in their last seven away league matches. Everton need three points to kick-start their season and can get a home win here.
