Everton's miserable season continued with a 5-2 hammering at Anfield on Wednesday evening leaving them 18th in the Premier League. The day after that defeat, Everton sacked Marco Silva, so how will they react to that decision? The latest defeat was their third in a row with nine goals conceded and left them in the relegation zone. Liverpool put five past them but it could easily have been double figures. Everton spent so much money in the summer (and the one before) but they are in a relegation battle and that's just not acceptable. Chelsea returned to winning ways on Wednesday with a 2-1 home win over Aston Villa. That kept them in fourth place six points clear of Wolverhampton Wanderers in fifth. They had lost their previous league games, including a home loss to West Ham United. The return of Tammy Abraham did the trick as he scored against the side he was at loan with last season. Chelsea started the season with that 4-0 loss at Manchester United but since then have won five and lost to Manchester City.
