Emma Raducanu vs Angelique Kerber Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Stuttgart Open

World number 302 Emma Raducanu and world number 333 Angelique Kerber will battle next in Stuttgart. The two will square off in the first round with the winner taking on either Jelena Ostapenko or Linda Noskova next. Emma Raducanu is back where it all ended for her last year. The one-time Grand Slam champion has battled fitness issues for the better part of a year. Before beginning her 2024 campaign, she had been out since April of last year after her first-round elimination in Stuttgart. The Briton isn’t yet back to full fitness and this has disrupted her form. She has compiled a 7-5 record but is yet to lose on clay in two outings. This should have her confident of making a winning start here. Raducanu won both her matches at the Billie Jean King Cup in her last court appearance. The 21-year-old starts things off here having moved up to 299th in the live ranking.

Angelique Kerber has also struggled with her form this year and has fared much worse than Raducanu. The German has been defeated eight times in 12 outings and is currently on a two-match skid. But as a two-time Stuttgart champion, she will be confident of starting things off here with a win. Kerber’s struggles have largely been because she missed the whole of last season as she became a mother. This match with Raducanu will be Kerber’s first on a clay surface since 2022. Being absent for an entire campaign saw the former world number one drop to being ranked outside the WTA’s top 600. She has however moved up quite significantly and is placed 330th in the live ranking. Kerber is a strong clay court performer and has won over 110 matches on the surface in her career.
