Atletico Madrid stayed top of the La Liga standings after Barcelona’s loss to Granada and they’ll be looking to take advantage of that result when they take on Elche away from home. Hosts Elche are placed 18th with 30 points while Atletico Madrid are top with 73 points ahead of this game. Elche are in the relegation zone courtesy of their inferior goal difference and go to this game hoping to cash in on Atletico’s feeble run away from home. They have some run at home; ahead of this game they are unbeaten in the last six matches, winning three. Among the impressive results they’ve registered there was a win over Sevilla and a draw with Villarreal. They are just coming from a 10 win over Levante, which is their first in eight matches and third in 28 La Liga games.
