Dynamo Kiev host Villarreal in the first leg of their Europa League last sixteen tie. Kiev top the Ukraine Premier League by four points from Shakhtar Donetsk (also in the last 16 of this competition). They started this 2020/21 season in the Champions League beating AZ and Gent to make it to the group stage. To say they had a tough draw is an understatement as they ended up in the same group as both Juventus and Barcelona. They lost all four games against them but earned four points against Ferencvaros to finish third and move into the Europa League. In the last 32 Kiev beat Club Brugge 2-1 on aggregate. The home first leg was drawn 1-1 but an 83rd minute goal gave them a 1-0 win in Belgium. Kiev have only won one of their last five home Europa League games, the last three all ending level with under 2.5 goals scored.

Villarreal are the draw kings in La Liga. They are seventh in that table but have drawn 13 out of 26 games. That has left them five points behind the Europa Conference League place and eight adrift of the Europa League qualification spot. Only one draw in the last six games though and they have lost their last two games in La Liga being beaten by Atletico Madrid and Valencia. They qualified for the knock-out stages of this competition by winning their group with five victories and one draw, though one win was awarded to them. On their travels in that group, Villarreal won two and drew one but Maccabi Tel Aviv, Qarabag and Sivasspor was a fairly easy group. In the last 32, Villarreal beat Red Bull Salzburg 4-1 on aggregate, winning both legs. Their last three away games in this competition have all had under 2.5 goals scored in them. A bet on that market can be a winner for this match.
