The first leg of this last sixteen tie in the Europa League was a real thriler. Dynamo Kiev travelled to Italy to take on Lazio and came away with a 2-2 draw. After a goalless first-half, Kiev took the lead in the 52nd minute only for Lazio to battle back with two goals in eight minutes to take the lead. A goal 11 minutes from time gave Kiev a 2-2 draw leaving this tie in the balance. The two away goals could well prove vital for Kiev but then again the same was written about Spurs last week after their 2-2 draw at Juventus and we all know what happened to them. The home side are on a 19 game league and cup game unbeaten home run and last lost in May of last year, though they have lost a few friendlies, They were eliminated early on in the Champions League beating Young Boys 3-1 at home but losing 2-0 away to go out on the away goals rule. Moved into the Europa League they got through the play-off round and then won their group by five points winning two and drawing one of their three home games and getting revenge on Young Boys who only finished third in the group. The last 32 saw Kiev beat AEK Athens on away goals and the Ukranian side are yet to lose a home European game this season and have gone 11 Europa League home games without defeat, last losing in 2014.

Lazio are fourth in Serie A but are on a poor run at present going four games without a win over 90 minutes with a penalty shoot-out loss to AC Milan in the Italian Cup after being held to a goalless draw. Lazio have only won one of their last six away league and cup games and will be severely disappointed they couldn't get a home win in the first leg. Their last two away games in this season's Europa League have both ended in defeat so the tip here is for Kiev to finish the job and get a home win to reach the quarter finals.
