Britain's Katie Boulter had a tough match in the first round of the Queen's Club grass court tournament. Boulter now faces the fifth-seeded Diana Shnaider for a place in the quarter-finals. Here's our match prediction.

World number 12 Diana Shnaider won the Bad Homburg grass court title last year. A career-best third round was reached at Wimbledon by the Russian. Overall, nine of her 12 grass court matches were won in 2024.

The 21-year-old won her only previous match against Boulter. That was played on a hard court last year and Shnaider only lost three games. 

Round one saw her defeat Magdalena Frech for the loss of only five games. The winner of this match will have a quarter-final against either second seed Madison Keys or qualifier Anastasia Zakharova.

Katie Boulter had to go to three sets to beat Ajla Tomljanovic in round one. The 28-year-old is 39th in the live rankings and is now the second highest ranked British woman with Emma Raducanu now 37th atter she also won on Tuesday.

Boulter won the Nottingham grass court tournament last year but has struggled this year. Not once has the Brit got past round three of a WTA Tour event.  We tip that stat to stay intact and go for Shnaider to get the win here.
