The Championship continues to serve up compelling episodes and this weekend is no different. Derby County, one of the form teams of the second tier, look to continue their rise up the table when they host Huddersfield, a team that is also enjoying a good streak of form. Waiting to pounce in 13th place, at the time of writing, Derby are coming off the back of a 3-2 win at Swansea. The Rams showed character and quality in overturning a deficit to collect three points. Wayne Rooney has lapped up praise from pundits for his role in this revival of fortunes. Their upturn in form coincides with his return to English football, yet he hasn't been alone in crafting wins. The three players who scored against Swansea (Waghorn, Holmes, and Lawrence) have been taking it turns to contribute goals and assists to the cause. Phillip Cocu could yet get the Rams into the playoffs if they keep getting results.

Although they are in 19th place - six points clear of relegation - Huddersfield will travel to Derby in good spirits. They have taken seven points from the last twelve available and have even looked combative in defeat. The Terriers will be desperate to avoid successive relegations but know that they face a tough task getting anything at Pride Park. Only Preston have a better home record than Derby in this campaign. Winners of the reverse fixture back in August, Derby are likely to do the double on Saturday. However, we expect Huddersfield to score in what should be a fiercely-contested match, Back both teams to score and Derby to win.
