Derby County vs Bournemouth Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Wayne Rooney is now the permanent manager of Derby County but his side are in deep relegation trouble. They only have one team below them in the Championship and they host Bournemouth who are third in the table. Saturday saw Derby slump to a 1-0 home defeat by Rotherham. It looked as if Rooney's first game since being given the job full time would end in a draw. However, Rotherham (who began the day 23rd) in the 86th minute to take all three points. The defeat leaves Derby in the bottom three, though only on goal difference. If Sheffield Wednesday hadn't had points deducted, they'd be five from safety. The defeat was the fourth in five league and cup games with them only scoring in the 4-0 win at Birmingham. Home form has been a problem for Derby this season with just seven points from 12 games, the worst record in the division. Their only home league win was over Swansea City in mid-December. Derby have failed to score in three of their last four at home. Of their 12 home league fixtures this season, they have only scored in four of them with five goals in total. Perhaps Wayne Rooney should  be on the pitch not on the bench. With players having to be sold during this transfer window, Rooney has a tough job to prevent his club being relegated.

Bournemouth will prove tough opposition for Derby as they bid to get back into the Premier League. They aren't in the best of form either though and are now four points behind the second automatic promotion spot. Saturday saw them lose 1-0 at home to Luton Town. That followed a midweek 1-1 home draw with Millwall, after taking an early lead. Only one of their last five league games has been won, a 1-0 win at Stoke on January 2nd. Just like their opponents, they are struggling to score on a consistent basis. Bournemouth have only two goals in their last five league matches, both scored by Dominic Solanke. Only one of their last four away league matches has been won, with two goals in those games. Go for under 2.5 goals to be scored in this game.
