Daniil Medvedev vs Zhizhen Zhang Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Halle Open

Third seed Daniil Medvedev takes on unseeded Zhizhen Zhang for a place in the Halle Open quarter-finals. The seeded opponent for the last eight is seventh seed and defending champion Alexander Bublik. Medvedev is fifth in the latest rankings list and also holds that position in the ATP Live Race. The Russian is playing his first grass court tournament of the year. His last appearance saw him lose in the fourth round at Roland Garros. Medvedev will be hoping for another good season on grass after reaching his first Wimbledon semi-final last year. His only grass court title came in Mallorca three years ago but he did make it to the final in Halle in 2022. The first round of this tournament saw him beat unseeded Nuno Borges in straight sets. 

Zhizhen Zhang is a career-high 42nd in the world rankings but up three places in the live list after beating Sebastian Ofner in round one. He won the first set on a tie-break, lost the second in the same way but then won the decider 6-4.  The Chinese player is up to 46th in the ATP Live Race after Monday's win. He hasn't got a great record on this surface and three times at Wimbledon have seen him fail to get past the first round. This is his second grass court tournament of the year, the other was in Stuttgart where he lost his first match to Dominik Koepfer in three sets. He's in the main draw here for the first time in his career. Last year was his only other visit and he lost in the first qualifying round. We tip Medvedev to win this in straight sets.
